Pod List 2014 / 2015

Big White Schedule 2014 / 2015

Big White Night Shift Schedule 2014 / 2015

Please note that new recruits and those returners still requiring some re-certification completion are on the POD list—but highlighted in italics.

These folks CAN NOT participate in regular shifts until their on-hill work is completed and they are certified.  This will be completed at the end of the second weekend after the hill opens.

This also means that these people CAN NOT participate in any shift swaps until they are certified.

PROCESS FOR POD LIST

  1. Used registration forms to set initial draft of the POD list.
  2. Took any/all requests and made changes.
  3. Shared second draft with new recruits and returners (at the returners weekend.)
  4. Made the requested changes.
  5. Shared list with the Executive.
  6. And am now distributing the list.

NOTE:  This is a tedious and time-consuming task.  Belated sincere thanks to Todd and Niki for all the years they did this!  I think we kind of took them for granted.

Some differences this year:

  1. All PODS are in alphabetical order—except for POD leaders and assistant POD leaders.
  2. The night shift schedule has been written with actual names—for your convenience.

Have a great season, everyone.  Look forward to seeing you on the hill.

All the best,

Bob Lindsay

Telemark area BC Cup, Feb 28-match 2nd, 2014

“We had a really successful BC cup XC ski race at Telemark this weekend with over 600 racers taking part. Our largest race ever. We even had participants from Washington state, Idahoe, Montanna, Utah and Wyoming taking part plus from all over BC and Alberts. There were also paraplegic entrants, sitz skis and no pole skiers (paralyzed arms) Quite an event. Terry Miles, Alex Harvie and Paul Armitage from BW patrol and Katherine Whitrow from Crystal helped Sara and myself with the event.”

Apple Triathlon

Hey crew! If anyone is interested in volunteering for the Apple Triathlon it looks like we are still looking for people:

Members: If you could send me a quick email letting me know what day/days you would like to sign up for we can get an idea how many volunteers we need.

Please come out and help us support this fantastic event!

Friday (5pm-7:00pm) evening is very low key – requiring only a few patrollers ready to patrol from the beach for the FINA open water swim. I would encourage the new people to stop by to pick up the info and see the setup. **PARK ANYWHERE, ELLIS OR SUNSET ARE GOOD SPOTS**

Saturday (6:30am-1pm) racing starts at 7:15am and we need people ready to patrol on foot and bike. The racers are Jr. Elite and Try-a-Tri age groups **PARKING-THE PARKADE BY THE LIBRARY IS A GREAT PLACE, IF YOU HAVE TO LEAVE EARLY YOU WILL NEED TO PARK FARTHER AWAY SINCE MOST DOWNTOWN STREETS ARE CLOSED FOR THE RACERS**

Sunday (6:30am-3pm) racing starts at 7:10am, the Age Group Sprint Olympic and Elite Racers and we need everyone we can get again on both foot and bike patrol. **PARKING-SAME ASSATURDAY**
